Stop the world’s largest detention becoming the world’s largest disappearances!

A number, in excess of 11,000 in 2009, of suspected combatants have been held in arbitrary detention without charge or access to their families or legal representation. Government claims that about 8,000 are still in detention after 19 months without charge or trial. The remaining thousands are unaccounted for and the government of Sri Lanka continues to defy calls for a verifiable list of those detained.

We demand to know; Are They Alive?

Support us by signing a petition to demand that the Sri Lanka Government,

1. Produce a list of detainees and submit to the ICRC

1. Give immediate access to the ICRC to the detainees
2. Bring to trial or release those detained without charge
